Audio Comparer screenshots

If you just installed the program and have never seen it before, the simple Comparison Wizard will go through the entire comparison process:

Next screenshot shows the listening process:

And here are the results shown after the comparison is complete:

main Audio Comparer window displays the found audio duplicates detected by their actual sound

The list on the left is an entire audio group. The tree on the right is the result of the comparison. Here you can mark the files based on how similar they are, expressed as a percentage, and take the following actions with them - copy, move or delete files, or remove them from the results. You can listen to any file displayed by pressing the "play" button or the F4 key.

Compare two files side by side

Open any two tracks in the pair comparison window: two waveforms one above the other, a strip that marks second by second where the recordings diverge, a similarity percentage, and synchronized playback of both files at once.

Best file criteria

Which copy counts as "the best" one is up to you. The rules are checked from top to bottom, and the first rule that differs between two files decides the winner. Put lossless format above bitrate, add cover art or tag completeness, reorder as you like — the same order drives both the automatic marking and the recommended file highlighted in the results.
